We have been selling items that we used in the old house and no longer need in the new house, to get needed furniture and what not. So Tuesday, we have a buyer en route to our house to buy our listed microwave. Amber asks Travis to move it in the garage so they can see it better. Upon moving it, the door swings open and the turntable comes flying out. . .and crashes into a million pieces. Nevertheless, the buyer (who had full price cash in hand) doesn't buy it because of that reason.
Wednesday, Amber wakes up not feeling well at all-no energy, nauseous, and achy. She takes the kids to school, and as soon as she walks in the door, runs to the bathroom. Right after violently throwing up, Camden's preschool teacher calls and says that Camden has pink eye. She can barely stand, let alone drive. So she waits an hour and then goes to pick him up. Luckily Travis was able to get off work in the afternoon, so he came home to take care of her, pink-eye boy, and clingy Addie. While doing this he picks Kennedy up from school, makes dinner and sells the microwave (for half-price-but at least it was something). Then the dishwasher breaks, which he tries to fix, but to no avail.
Thursday, Amber feels better, but still very weak. As she is driving Kennedy to the bus stop, she forgets to slow down during the construction area near their house. Of course there is a motorcycle cop there and he pulls her over. She looks splendidly well (after 24 hrs of not keeping anything down). And she admits to going faster, as well as having the flu and needing to get a child to the bus stop. He proceeds to fill out the ticket, and comes back. While he is talking to her, she has to relieve herself into a cup. All he says is "Do I need to call the fire dept?" To which Amber responds "No it's just the flu." (We would like to know. . .what would the fire dept do?). We are still in shock that he still gave a poor, sick pregnant woman a ticket. So having missed the bus, Amber gets to drive Kennedy to school. Oh and Thursday is Camden's birthday-he turned 5!
So really this week has gotten to a point where we really just have to laugh about it. Either it just gets more comical or it just gets better, right? (That police story makes us laugh everytime we tell it now)
Do you have any "come what may, and love it" moments?

What a week! I hope it's gotten better. I just got my first ever ticket - a photo radar one. Not much I can do about it! But annoying when I really have plenty of other things to spend that money on.....
I can't believe the police officer took no pity on you!
WOW - your friendly neighborhood police man must have had to "fill his quota" to still give you a ticket after you had to fill your cup! Poor girl!
Our "come what may and love it" moments came while we were moving. FOr 2 weeks while we were supposed to be packing, moving, etc, we were all sick... with completely different things... my car broke down and cost almost $500 to fix, Elliot had to be run to the ER 3 nights in a row for antibiotic shots (he refuses oral meds - long story). This on top of our already hectic life of driving kids too and from school, David in school/ clinicals, etc. Needless to say, our move was slowed A LOT and only last weekend did we finish getting out of our old place (paying rent by the day there). It was the slowest move in history... but hey, we are done it will all work out - and now get to unpack!!
Oh man! I can't believe the nerve of that motorcycle cop! If that doesn't get you out of a ticket, then I don't know what will!! Hope things get better soon!
Did he think you were faking? How rude of him!
Yeah, we have had a "come what may" year. Poor Ryan works so hard- too hard in fact. He is down to one job now, he was terminated due to unauthorized overtime. In short- he got fired for working too hard. His boss didn't fill out the correct paperwork. Now we have no medical insurance. He found out that was the motivation for letting him go- a heart surgery and knee surgery within two months- he is or was a medical nightmare. But we are all healthy now!
Wowzahs! I'm glad you even had a cup available to spew in! I think Dec.2007-June 2008 is a just exhausting to even think about...so I try not to. ;) ITs beena while since we've chatted-thanks for the blog updates!
