Pre-Christmas happenings

Whenever we get behind, we wonder if we should back-track, start from now and work our way back, or just skip it altogether. Well, this time we're going to do a combo.

We love Christmas time at our house and love having fun little traditions/things to do or go and see. One of our favorites is going to the LDS Mesa Temple to see the Christmas lights. It is quite the display! Very beautiful. The kids especially love seeing baby Jesus in the manger with the star above.
We also like to dress up and put on a production of "The Nativity", but we don't quite have enough actors for it...yet ;o) So we got together with some friends and had our own little production. We were reminded of that old movie/book "The Worst Christmas Pageant Ever"-thought how could it get more chaotic, but the kids loved it and it was very sweet.

This year, Amber decided to take Kennedy out of school for a morning so they could go and see Act 2 of "The Nutcracker". They both loved this little Mommy-daughter date.
Then we were pleasantly surprised by an early visitor...Santa! He came to visit us on horseback! The kids loved it!! (and so did Amber) Addie still talks about seeing "Sansa on his hooorse."

Kennedy was also involved in the Stake Primary choir and was able to be a part of the Stake Christmas Concert. She was so excited to be a part of that. We really had a great Christmas season as a family. We love doing all these things-but most of all we love doing them together, and remembering that we give gifts because of our Savior's gift to us.

Hey, your tree is really pretty. Also, I took Laura to see The Nutcracker when she was that age...it was a blast! Glad you got to go. Isn't it fun to watch your kids grow up?
