Gila Valley Temple

The Gila Valley Temple was completed and open to the public during the month of May. Even though May was super busy (as you can tell with this late of a post), and the temple was a good 2.5 hours away, we decided this was something we should do. How often are our kids able to see the inside of a temple and feel of the special spirt that is there? So we left on a Friday afternoon, took the kids out of school a little early, Travis left work early, and away we went. We even decided to go sans DVD players (gasp!) We looked at the scenery and played car games-you know all that stuff we did before modern technology...except the part of laying anywhere you wanted in the car. In addition, Easton is not always the best long distance travler so Travis was a little wary, but it turned out ok-he only screamed the last 20 min.

It was such a beautiful sight, tucked in this little valley. Everything was set up so well-it ran very smoothly. The kids had lots of questions and were really good during the whole tour. It really was amazing the spirit that you can feel in the Celestial room-everyone was quiet and so still. (and that is quite a feat for Addie) It is a smaller temple, so the tour didn't last very long, but the impact it had on us will last awhile-The kids loved it.
