Our stranded visitor

One wonderful day in January Amber received a call from her wonderful friend "Cute Cami girl" (that is her official title). She was calling to let her know that she would have a lay over in Phoenix and was seeing if they could meet up. Well when Amber went to go and meet her at the airport, they discovered that Cami's layover would be a little longer than anticipated. Instead of a 2 hour delay, it was going to be a 2 DAY delay. This was due to a huge storm that was hitting the northeast. Although most people would be a little disappointed by this turn of events, Amber and Cami were elated! Two whole days to just hang out with each other! So first Amber picked Cami up and took her to scripture class-thorough enjoyment. And they were able to hang out for the day. In the evening they went to SIMADA, and discussed/learned about the Everglades. And Cami met some wonderful ladies who she had east coast connections with. (Small little world) On Thursday, Cami treated everyone to a fun lunch. We met up with the kids at school and had lunch with them and their friends. The kids were excited to show Cami off and to have hamburgers and French fries-a special treat.

That evening Cami wanted to make a fun dinner with the kids...so we made calzones. Everyone had fun making and "designing" their very own calzone. We sure made a mess, but had fun doing it. Cute Cami Girl and Amazing Amber..."heart friends". Cami Condie and Amber have been friends since 1999, and Cami and Travis actually severed in the same mission at the same time.

Friday was a sad day...we had to say goodbye to our cute friend and goodbye to a semi-vacation. It was so fun to have this un-expected visitor, and we pray for another plane delay someday ;o)
