Mo-Tab groupies

We had quite a tender experience this past weekend.
February 14 is an important date...it's Arizona's birthday! And this year just happens to be it's 100th birthday! As a result, our govenor invited the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to perform. One of Amber's good friends from college is a member of the choir-Camille Kingman. Added bonus, Camille and Travis knew each other in high school. So we took the whole family down to her hotel to visit with her when the choir came in town.


While we were outside visiting, some of the choir people started walking out Alex Boye, Mack Wilberg, Loyd Newel, and more. We were getting giddy ... and yes we started feeling like groupies! Kennedy even said "There's the guy from Sunday's!" Loyd Newel heard her and came over, and just started chatting with us. He was the nicest guy ever! Just kept commenting on how beautiful our family was and how wonderful Arizona was and just chatting with us and the kids. Then he said "Are you coming tonight?" And Amber was hym-hawing, because it wasn't because we didn't want to, the ticets were pricey. He then just states, "Let me see if I can get you tickets." Then off he went. Twenty minutes later he called Camille's phone and had 4 tickets for us. How amazing?! He didn't have to do any of that. And he was just so tender and sweet the whole time.
Kennedy and Amber were uber excited. Travis really wanted to go, but it was already a few hours before the concert, so he sacrificed to stay home with the kids. So we asked our good friends Jessica and Cami Schlerf-they were exstatic to get to go. When we showed up at the concert, we found out our tickets were on the FLOOR!
The concert was amazing! We listen to them every Sunday, but they are even better in person. One can definately feel the spirit there. One of their encores was "God Bless America"-beautiful-many wet eyes in the audience, including Amber. The cherry on top was the final encore. They pulled a guest conductor on to the stage. It was ...Sandra Day O'Connor! She is a Arizona native, and was sitting in the row right in front of us! Amazing!

It really was such a neat and tender experience. We were all so touched by the experience and thank ful for it.
