LOVE, LOVE, LOVE doing a Summer fun list every summer!! I will forever thank my wonderful friend Cherryl for helping me to be a better mom and introducing me to this idea. And this year we had some added help from Pinterest and all the fun things they have on there. So this was our list this summer-and we had such a fun summer!
Then to make things even better (who knew they could get better than our glorious list) we have some great friends-the Schlerf family-who help us with our "book fun". This is where we pick a book to read as a family (it has some kind of theme) and then we do fun projects that correlate with the theme.
First year: pirates-read "Treasure Island", made a paper mache pirate ship, went on treasure hunts, dressed up like pirates.
Second Year: knights-read "Hole in the Wall", made a castle, swords, personal shields, dressed-up, and more.
This year: Ancient Asia- read "Single Shard", made clay pots, played with slime, had a Chinese dinner, played with chopsticks, and much more.
