Tooth Fairy

Kennedy now has her very first "wiggle-ly tooth". She is quite excited because she was sure she was the only one in her class who had not lost a tooth. So the past few days she has chosen to eat apples (cause they are hard and will help her tooth to get out). And every morning she declares "My tooth is going to fall out today!" Well we think she may be right today.
So this thing is probably coming out very soon-especially if she keeps up the apple thing. Now with the state of the economy, rising gas prices, and losing all our baby teeth 20 years ago (are we really that old!) - we are a little out of touch with what the going tooth fairy rate is currently. We need your help.

What is the tooth fairy leaving at your house?

Now remember this is the first tooth-the standard is being set, to which all others will be compared

Thats a good question but when you find out the going rate for teeth, let me know. I'm sure I will have to find out soon for Elli!

We somehow end up paying more each tooth that's lost. the origional plan was $2 a tooth. But when Lexi had a taumatic tooth loss- it was my fault- she recieved $5. I would say $1 is good, but all the kids in our ward in LV gave $10 a tooth!! A cute idea I might start is a gold $1 coin- it's a novelty to the kids so they won't worry that someone else got more money. Also a little advise- the toothfairy has forgotten to come and let me warn you of how awful you feel in the morning! The next night we found a cute girly font on the computer and typed a letter explaining so many kids were loosing teeth and Wiser is at the end of the Alphabet so as a make up for being one night late an extra quarter was left. See how we end up leaving more $ each time?! My firend threw her daughters tooth in the trash, she had been puting her son's there for years, but as luck would have it her daughter found it! We now flush the teeth down the toilet so there will be no little children finding it!!

Hi, Red. Our tooth fairy leaves 4 quarters... Although we had been thinking of asking her to leave those cool $1 coins mentioned in another response. It might be cool to invite her to leave a new book or something. It is too easy to get wrapped up in making it sooooo cool and then you have to keep making it better and better and pretty soon a loose tooth means dipping into your college savings account. :) Our tooth fairy also leaves notes sometimes. She has messy handwriting and the kids figure it's because she has to use such a big pen to write with. Have fun with it! :)

A struggling economy and tight finances has affected the tooth fairy that visits our house.... Grey got $1.00 for his first tooth (but we made it very clear that a first or front tooth pays out at a higher rate because they're extra special). For his 2nd tooth, he got $0.35.

Cute blog Amber- our children have all recieved a $1 bill plus a little change, which varies, usually 2 quarters. That really has stayed the same. Forgetting is the worst! our kids just know that sometimes the tooth fairy is super busy, so they might have to leave it there a couple nights. which might be wise to play up from the beginning, like, i hope she comes, sometimes i hear she has lots of teeth, so it takes a few nights. notes have been left, but rarely.
