So we have to share this funny story. Friday, Amber is making breakfast and goes to turn on the faucet and only a little bit of water comes out. She thinks, "is the faucet broken?" and then realizes (what you are now realizing) that the water is turned off. (Background: when we were moving, the water was already turned on at the new house, and due to some complications at the water company, it was easier to wait until the old house was turned off. And of course as things get, it got pushed to the bottom of the "To do" list). Luckily, Amber was able to call and get it all worked out, but we went through a few hours of no water. When telling the kids that there was no water, Kennedy's response was:
"The water was turned off for the whole world?!?"
"No just our house."
"Can't we just get some from the neighbors?"
"Yes, but we have our own."
"How are we going to wash the syrup off?" (we had pancakes for breakfast)
"We'll have a water washing party at the sink with the water bottles from the garage"
Now of course the kids thought this was the coolest thing ever. And Camden thought we were going to have a real water party with friends (ie: splashing and getting wet in the backyard with our water bottles) so he was even more excited!
So we survived and used our water from our food storage-and learned that we will probably need a whole lot more water if it was turned off for any substantial time!!
