Who misses elementary school lunchtime? Loud cafeteria, all your friends, chocolate milk....mmmm....that's worth it right there! Well now we can enjoy all of that anytime we want. Kennedy and Camden's school is an "open" lunch-meaning the parents can come and have lunch with the kids at their lunchtime. This wasn't the case when Travis and Amber went to school. And each grade has their own time (that didn't happen either for the old-timers). Luckily both Kennedy and Camden still WANT their parents to come and join them-it's a special treat. They love it because not only do they get to show off their ultra cool parents, but they also get to pick 2 other classmates to join them at the "special" tables (and we're not talking special as in short-bus special).
Camden's lunch comes first. Each time he picks a different set of friends to join us-one boy and one girl-he's very fair. Then right when his lunch is over, Kennedy's starts.
She picks the same friends each time-a bunch of very cute girls who adore Addie-and Addie loves the attention! Then sometimes we'll join Kennedy at recess. Once Kennedy was showing how well she could jump-rope, and Amber jumped right in. Kennedy said "Wow! That's what the 5th grade girls can do!" Amber was glad to know she was at least as cool as a 5th grade girl.
We love having lunch together-we miss them while they are at school all day now. And we're glad that they still want their parentals around, cause that may not be the case one day.

How fun! I think that's such a great idea. I would love to have lunch with my kids and see who their friends are....
Enjoy them wanting you around while it lasts! :)
That is so fun! It will be a sad day when they don't want us around anymore!
