The little kids

Even though there are only 3 years inbetween our 2nd and 3rd kids, it seems a bit bigger when comparing 5yrs old to 2yrs old. Thus the terms "big kids" and "little kids/babies" have arised. And since the big kids have been gone to school all day, it's been fun to see how the little kids' personalities have have changed/developed while in a more individual setting.

A. who is 2 yrs old, loves to say prayers. Oftentimes, halfway through lunch (after an intial prayer has already been said) she will say "Mommy!" and then fold her arms and bow her head. When she volunteers to say the prayer she will say "Gee-gee" (Jesus) over and over again. So her prayer goes something like the following:

Helper: Dear Heavenly Father
A: Gee-gee
Helper: Thank thee for....
A: Gee-gee
Helper: Please bless....
A: Gee-gee
Helper: In the name of Jesus Christ
A: Gee-gee
Helper: Amen
A: Gee-gee

The big kids think it's hilarious and laugh when she's done, but she's just so proud of herself. Lately she has found her creative side. She loves playdough and wants to play with it every spare minute of the day. She has even started carrying some of the little containers around with her.

She loves to draw, and will just pick up a pencil and start coloring on any spare piece of paper around...even homework, if it's left out. When you ask her a question she has started saying "uh...." after it and then making her decision. Funny how they pick up on what their older siblings do, so quickly! As like most 2yr olds, she likes to label what things are hers and state if they belong to another family member, "mommy's", "sissy's", "duh's", "daddy's", "baby E's", and her favorite "mine. Sometimes she sounds excatly like the seagulls on "Finding Nemo"...mine, mine, mine-but in this cute, little, nice voice. She also will call others "hers"- her daddy, her duh. ("Duh" is her name for C).

E. is growing like a weed. He' s not even 6 months yet, has his 2 bottom teeth, gets up on all fours and "seal" crawls around, can sit for several minutes at a time, and has outgrown all his clothes by weighing 17+ pounds!
He loves his exersaucer and has figured out how to make himself bounce-thus making lots of noise.
He is also quite prioud of his accomplishments and shows it off with a toothy grin that is just too adorable. His laugh is quite contagious and we all try to get him to laugh-even A.

How sweet is the little 2 year old prayers, and that she wants to so much. Amazing how they want to copy everything we do. What a lucky girl to have a family who prays, so those are the things she wants to do!

Oh, your baby is getting so big! I too, love the little kids prayers. Lately Ryan has been praying with one eye open, so that he can "list" all the things he sees and is thankful for.
