Give a day, get a day at . . .DISNEYLAND!!!

We participated in Disney's "Give a day, get a day" program. This is a program they have this year where you volunteer to do some kind of service. Our volunteer project was collecting dishes and silverware for a company that helped displaced families get into their own place (usually abused woman and children). It was fun to do and neat for the kids to see that their hard work went to something good. As a result, Disney gave us vouchers for one free day at Disneyland. Pretty good deal!
Next we had to decide when to go. We wanted to go at a less busy time, so we decided to go the end of February. We got this fabulous hotel room and stayed there for one night and then went to Disneyland the next day. So fabulous!

Addie refused to look, and Camden is trying to be funny.

This time we had a plan of attack, and it seemed to work well. While Travis and Kennedy went to ride Indiana Jones, Amber took the others on the jungle cruise.

Then we tackled Fantasyland.

We all love the Peter Pan ride..except for Easton.

Then we did a combo of the fast pass plus the parent pass-which made for some ultra fast entry! So while Travis took the big kids on Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, Amber took the little ones over to the petting zoo. They both LOVED it! Easton loved just touching the animals, and Addie got a hoot out of watching one "use the facilities"-she's very big on that since she herself has been potty trained. Then we played switcheroo and Amber would take the big kids while Trav had the little ones.

Of course we had to go on Pirates-and we took full advantage of the short lines and went SEVERAL times.Of course we saw lots of characters. We're a little sad that you can't track down all the princesses anymore. You have to wait in a line (that even then with it not very crowded the wait was 1.5 hours) to see just 3 princess-and you don't know who you'll get. Easton LOVED Eeyore-he would just touch him and laugh! But the highlight was the Jedi "camp". Both Kennedy and Camden were chosen out of the crowd (thankfully, or we might have had some tears). And they were trained in the ancient Jedi art.

After their training, they were tested by fighting Darth Vader or Darth Mall. They both LOVED it!

We had such a blast there! It was a short trip, but well worth it. The kids were great. The little ones napped, and of course everyone crashed when we got in the car. It has been a lot of fun to be able to ride the fast rides with the big kids. They announced that they love all the "Mountains" ie: space, splash, big thunder.
