USS Midway

Our family loves San Diego (as you may already know), and every time we go, we try to find another fun activity to do. We went there the beginning of May for a birthday celebration for Trav's grandpa (next post) and stayed with one of our favorites ... Aunt Edie. We have always wanted to tour the USS Midway (an aircraft carrier) and since we had more time than usual, we decided to take the tour and brought Aunt Edie with us. It was so amazing-that ship was like it's own little city-had it's own hospital, mess hall, post office, bunks, offices and more! Plus all the cool airplanes.

Here's our many group shots all over the deck of the ship and in some of the planes.

Here we are testing out the seats, mechanics, pilot's area, ejector seats, going into the belly of the ship and getting in our own bunk beds.

We had so much fun, and were so glad Aunt Edie joined us.
