Christmas Eve is always a little more casual for us. We usually have friend over or join friends. This year we had the Jensen and Baker families over for pizza and homemade cinnamon rolls. we have a lot of fun with these families and really enjoy being with them.

After all the yummy food and friends left, we had our family nativity. The kids were excited because this year we had a real baby to play Baby Jesus-Colston. Addie was an angel; Kennedy was Mary; Camden wanted to be the donkey, but we had him be Joseph; Easton was a "wise-guy" or wise-man; Travis was the narrator; and Amber was the chorister. Afterward we watched the "Nativity". We all love the wonderous story of our Saviors birth.

Travis' family never opened any presents on Christmas Eve, while Amber's family opened all the presents from family. So as a compromise, the kids open 2 from mom and dad, and then they exchange presents between each other. The 2 they open from us are the same every year...a new ornament just for them, and a pair of pajamas.

The past 2 years the kids have exchanged names because we have started making the presents. This year the kids made each other fleece tie pillow cases. The kids remember who made their presents, and they love it! Then it's off to bed, off to bed.
